Root Canal

Our Services

A root canal is the procedure of repairing or salvaging a badly decayed tooth where its nerve or pulp has become infected or damaged. The procedure itself is as painful as putting in an ordinary filling. The pain associated with the infection of the tooth however can be excruciating. If you are experiencing a significant amount of pain please book an appointment so our dentist can evaluate if there may be a possible infection.

Signs of requiring a root canal include toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold, darkening of the tooth and swelling gums.

What is the procedure like?

• Root Canal Procedure may take multiple visits and sessions depending on the size of infection and damage.

• X-rays are taken to evaluate the infection to the surrounding area and shape of root canals.

• The nerve and pulp of the tooth are removed and then cleaned and sealed. Removing the nerve does not affect the function or purpose of the tooth.

• Without treatment, the tooth may further complicate into an abscessed tooth causing severe pain and the infection to spread.
